United Patent Research client Timothy H. is pleased to have received an official China patent certificate for his unique storage container, the Excess Elimination Device. This innovative storage container design enables all the contents of a storage drum or storage tank to be completely used without tilting the container. Although designed with larger storage containers in mind, this container design can be used with containers of any size. The Excess Elimination Device is currently patent pending in the United States and Europe.

It’s always a great day for inventors when they receive official notification from the United States Patent and Trademark Office that their inventions have attained patent pending status. Several inventors working with United Patent Research have received notification from the Patent Office that their inventions are now Patent Pending.

• Tamara B. is the proud inventor of the Car Pocket. This innovative automobile accessory allows the user to easily dispense business cards and/or advertisement brochures to people passing by a parked car.
• In order to enhance the night fishing experience, Carl and Ava C. have invented the Glow Float. This night fishing accessory easily attaches to a standard fishing line and provides useful light for night fishing as well as indicating when a fish is biting on the bait.
• Finally, Eva D. and Reckie H. have invented the Unique Shutter Covers which easily fit on established window shutters and can turn a boring home exterior into an eye catching work of art.

United Patent Research is pleased to announce that inventor David B. has received a notice of allowance from China’s patent office regarding his invention, the Airtricity Charger. This timely invention is an auxiliary electrical charger especially designed to be used with electric and hybrid electric cars. Previously, David was granted a patent in the United States Patent and Trademark Office and he has filed a patent application with the European Economic Community’s patent office. The inventor is thus well situated for worldwide distribution and sale of his invention.

Among the many steps in the patent process, the granting of a notice of allowance by a patent office is a paramount achievement. After a careful examination of the inventor’s claims, and a review of existing patents, a patent examiner may conclude that an invention deserves to be granted a patent. A notice of allowance is then sent to the inventor. At a later date the official patent certificate is mailed to the inventor. Several inventors working with United Patent Research have received notices of allowance regarding their inventions.

It is always an exciting experience for inventors when they receive official notification from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that their inventions have attained patent pending status. Patty S. is the proud inventor of the Infant Car Seat Safety Feature. This device is designed to insure the safety and security of infants traveling in cars by alerting a driver leaving a car that an infant is still in the car. Another practical invention is the Side Step Exhaust invented by United Patent Research clients Christopher and Christine S. This unique truck exhaust system provides several advantages over conventional rear mounted exhausts. The Side Step Exhaust is light in weight, energy efficient, and it provides a convenient step arrangement for easy entry to the truck’s cab.

There are several steps in the patent process with each step having its own rewards and challenges. The first success for inventors in the patent process is becoming patent pending. Inventors are notified of their patent pending status by receiving a formal patent filing receipt from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This filing receipt presents the assigned patent pending number and the date of the filing of the patent application. The inventor can than claim to be “patent pending”.

• Inventors are constantly conceiving new clothing accessories. Inventors Wendy G. and Jennifer T. are the inventors of Shu Wraps. These creatively designed shoe accessories allow a woman to comfortably wear pumps which are a little too large while enabling the woman to customize her foot attire to coordinate with her total outfit.  

United Patent Research client Douglas P. is excited about the progress being made in the licensing negotiations for his invention Zip’N Clean. Universal Licensing, the licensing affiliate of United Patent Research, has announced that a major marketing firm specializing in direct TV sales has sent the inventor a Marketing and Distribution Term Sheet outlining the terms of a potential licensing agreement. Moving licensing negotiations in a positive direction has required the years of experience of Universal Licensing as Douglas’ intellectual property rights needed to be harmonized with intellectual property rights of another inventor in order to avoid a conflict between the rights of both inventors. Dealing with delicate intellectual property rights issues is beyond the expertise of most inventors, and therefore the licensing experience of Universal Licensing can be a “life saver” for many invention projects. The Zip‘N Clean is a patented new design for a shower liner. The unique design of this shower liner permits the liner to easily be removed for washing without opening the grommets or the shower curtain support rings.

Some inventors working with United Patent Research have decided to pursue patent protection for their inventions in the European Union in addition to pursuing a United States patent. Currently the European Union has twenty-seven member nations. Thus, a single patent in the European Union provides patent protection in twenty-seven countries with several of these countries being major industrial powers. Several of these inventors have received the official European patent certificate, “The Certificate of Registration for the Community Design”, for their inventions which is issued by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market within the European Union.

United Patent Research secures the services of highly qualified patent professionals in the European Union in order to insure quality patent work for inventors seeking intellectual property protection in Europe.

Although United Patent Research encourages inventors to seek patent protection in the United States as a priority, United Patent Research does understand the value patent protection in the ever expanding China marketplace. Three United Patent Research clients who have become patent pending in China this year are Bryant and Erica T., and Edward B. All of these inventors have received official notification from the China State Intellectual Property Office that their patent applications have been filed and have been assigned official application numbers. Bryant and Erica T. have invented an innovative Taco cooking accessory, the Taco Rack, which greatly simplifies the cooking and serving of multiple tacos. The rugged yet simplistic design of the Taco Rack assures a long product life in both home and restaurant environments. Edward B. is the inventor of the practical Hitch Buddy.
